Who is Sol?
It starts inside. Sol Hair is a salon of the senses; a relaxing space offering a completely rejuvenating and energising experience that involves sight, sound, smell and touch from the moment you walk in the door. The space is private, earthy, ambient, welcoming and totally calm: think raw materials, hanging plants, lemongrass scents, happy vibes, and calming curated playlists. Here, the name of the game is relaxation, and of course, really great hair. This love of the environment extends outside too, with a strong focus on sustainability, recycling, minimal water usage, ethical practices and the use of organic products. Even from the salon basins, the Sol team are aiming to protect the environment in everything they do.
Sol Hair was created in 2018 by award-winning hairdresser Kristie Sibson, as a place of escape for both the body and the mind. After two years working in London for a leading salon, Kristie returned to Australia to continue her career as a hairdresser in Paddington. She has worked in some of Brisbane’s best salons, was selected as part of the Redken team for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week three years running, and has collected quite the client base and social media following along the way.
If you’ve ever visited Sol Hair salon in Paddington, you might have noticed we love the environment. Maybe it's option of vegan-friendly products, or our environmentally aware practices. Maybe it was just the plants. Sol Hair is proud to partner with Sustainable Salons; a respected social enterprise that’s committed to making salon waste history. What does that mean for you? Each time you visit Sol Hair, your bill will include a small $2 Green Fee, that is added to our own contributions. This ensures that 95% of the resources used during your service will be diverted from landfill and sent for recycling. Any chemicals left after your appointment? These will be recycled into water for use in construction and road works. Empty hair care bottles and packaging? These will be repurposed into new products, so they can never reach our oceans. Your unwanted hair? It will support worthy causes like oil spill clean-up projects and charitable wig making services. And that’s just the beginning.
Our commitment with Sustainable Salons gives us all the chance to help more, and means when you book an appointment you’ll walk out of our Paddington hair salon with a squeaky clean conscious and confidence that goes perfectly with your new hair.

Sol Hair owner and director Kristie prides herself in being one of these hair stylists. She is all about delivering a personal experience that’s tailored to every client; she remembers your favourite part is the head massage, and knows when you say you want a trim, you only mean half a trim. Regardless of your wants and needs, you will always leave Sol Hair feeling completely energised, and loving the final result.

Cancellation Policy
We value your time and we hope you value ours so we require minimum 24 hours notice for a cancellation or minimum 12 hours notice for an appointment change.
Please call the salon if you need to make any changes. We regularly have an awaited list of guests so this allows us plenty of time to accommodate all our beautiful Sol’s needs.
Our SMS service will TXT you 48 hours before your appointment, this is a friendly reminder so please call for any changes. If a cancellation/change or no show occurs with less than the required time notice a fee will be applied.
FEE:
Appointments 30-60min: $50
Appointments over 60min: $100
All colour corrections or appointments over 4 hours must pay a $100 deposit. This deposit will go towards the appointment however if the appointment is canceled within the 24 hour policy then the deposit is non-refundable.
